Welcome to Wales End to End. This tour is a 5 night 4 day road cycling trip covering approx. 220 miles, starting in Chepstow then passing through Brecon, Llanidloes and Barmouth before reaching Holyhead. While not as well known as Lands End to John o’Groats this trip is one of the best ways to explore the variety and beauty of Wales.
 Cycling
Cycling
Wherever possible we utilise country lanes and national cycle network paths, trying to avoid main roads. We ride at a pace that is well within the reach of a fit and competent cyclist. We start each day at around 8.45am with a morning briefing where the tour leader will explain the day’s route and the traffic and weather conditions that you are likely to encounter. You will also be briefed on the place where we will be having our lunch stop, we usually provide a healthy picnic/sandwiches or if the weather is bad we will make use of one of the many cafes and pubs along the route.
More Information
The support van will be available to help with the day to day running of the tour and towards the end of each day transporting your luggage to your accommodation. Wherever possible during the course of each day we stop the van in a safe place and offer hot drinks and snacks. We can arrange to get your bike shipped home at the end of the tour for a small extra fee.
Accommodation
Your accommodation throughout the tour will be a mix of hotels and bed & breakfasts, chosen with your comfort and convenience in mind. As much of the route passes through less touristy parts of Wales, some properties will have character and charm reflecting the local area, and standards may vary. However, our priority is always to ensure you have a good night’s sleep and secure storage for your bike, so you can rest well and be ready for the next day’s ride.
Single accommodation is available for a supplement of £295.
Meals
The hotels will provide breakfast whilst the support team will provide a pack-up lunch, this will depend on what is available on the day and could include a mix of fresh sandwiches, pasties or easy grab and bites sourced from local bakeries. If weather doesn’t permit outdoors we will get into cafes for quick lunch.
You will need to purchase your own evening meals, which are usually eaten communally although of course you are free to opt out if you wish.
We will carry emergency energy gels and bars in the support van but you are advised to bring along your own preferred sports nutrition to fuel your ride. There will be water refills, fruits bars etc provided to keep you hydrated.
In the Tour Plan, (B, L, D) refers to meals included in the trip cost i.e. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
Bike Transfers
We will happily transport your bike to Chepstow and back from Holyhead at no extra charge. If you drop your bike off at our Sheffield office up to a day before departure we will carefully pack it in the support van, drive it to the start and then return it to Sheffield ready for you to collect.
If that isn’t convenient then depending where you live we may be able to collect your bike on our journey from Sheffield to Chepstow.
If arriving by car you can bring your bikes and leave your car in Chepstow. We can offer an optional transfer to return to Chepstow and can deliver the bikes back to Chepstow on the last day.
Please get in touch with us to discuss arrangements, any other arrangements will be for an agreed fee.
While we will take all reasonable care while handling your bikes, using padded covers and making sure they are securely stored, we are not liable for any loss or damage during transportation and storage. We recommend you have appropriate insurance.

Ken and Ian where excellent and I would like to ride trips with them again.
The quality of the roads was fantastic and I enjoyed a few pints of real ale before the evening meal.
I would recommend Pedal Nation as this tour and the company are excellent. It is my view that anyone returning from riding this route who is not happy with it is not really a cyclist.
Sheila
Both Iain & Ken were good company.
I enjoyed the challenge of getting up those hills but I would have liked to have had more time to take photos at major sites.
Diana Parker
An awesome trip, thank you. Could not have been looked after better!
Alan Stanton
Ken and Graeme were completely a part of the team and an integral part of the experience.
Jeanne Smith
Enjoyed the panoramic views of hills and coast.
Julie Weeks & Peter Robinson
Tour leaders were great. Good company, unsurpassable knowledge and skills in cycling and bikes, supportive and inspiring. Well organised, good staff, bike transport arrangement
Janet and Bob Hardiker
You gave us a good holiday. We felt very safe and looked after. They were particularly kind putting our luggage in our room each day, as we were invariably last to arrive.
