Portugal End to End
Welcome to our exciting new tour, which takes us on one of the most famous roads in Portugal, the N2. The tour runs from Saturday to Sunday with 7 days of cycling which will take you down the backbone of Portugal, from North to South, crossing 4 mountain ranges, 11 rivers and 29 municipalities.
This tour is aimed at cyclists who like a challenge with an overall distance of 729km and almost 10,000m of climbing needed to reach our end goal of the resort of Faro. The tour has been planned so that mileage and climbs are achievable for most regular cyclists, however hill training and consecutive days in the saddle beforehand is essential. Throughout the tour our cycling guide will be on hand to offer guidance and encouragement, and our support van will wait at convenient points along each route to provide assistance

Arrival / Departure Transfers
We are offering transfers from Porto to Chaves, some 150km away. Porto provides flight options from several UK airports. Our transfer bus will leave no later than 1pm for the 2 hour journey to our starting point at Chaves, so your flight will need to arrive at least 1 hour before then.
For anyone travelling with their bike, depending on the numbers, there may be an extra charge if we need a vehicle with a trailer.
Bike Transfers
We will happily transport your bike to Chaves and back from Faro at no extra charge. If you drop your bike off at our Sheffield office up to four days before departure we will carefully pack it in the support van, drive it to the start and then return it to Sheffield ready for you to collect.
If that isn’t convenient then depending where you live we may be able to collect your bike on our journey from Sheffield to Dover. Please get in touch with us to discuss arrangements.

Arrival Day
Cycle from Chaves to Peso da Ragua
89km with around 1,200m of ascent
We spend our first day in the saddle crossing the hills and valleys of the stunning Douro region. (B,L)Cycle from Peso da Ragua to Viseu
84km with around 1,580m of ascent
A memorable day in the saddle as we cycle south through the Douro wine growing region, ending in the historic city of Viseu. (B,L)Cycle from Viseu to Pedrogao Pequeno
145-157 km with around 2,355m of ascent
This is our toughest day in the saddle as we tackle numerous ascents, including a long but gentle climb out of Lamego. But what a day with some many splendid views of some of Portugal’s best nature parks and the surrounding landscape. The N2 can be fairly busy as it leaves Viseu, however, there is the beautiful "Ecopista Do Dao" to ride on instead. This 32km cycle path takes us completely away from the traffic all the way from Viseu to Santa Comba Dao. (B,L)Cycle from Pedrogao Pequeno to Abrantes
70 km with around 1,105m of ascent
Today’s ride will take us through a number of the country’s provinces to the town of Abrantes. Along our route we will experience some fantastic rolling hills and lovely scenery as we continue down the spine of this picturesque country. (B,L)Cycle from Abrantes to Montemor-o-Novo
121 km with around 995m of ascent
Today starts with an undulating ride through the wine region of Montemor O Novo. (B,L)Cycle from Montemor-o-Novo to Castro Verde
127 km with around 1,085m of ascent
Today we get the opportunity to pass olive plantations, cork oaks and rolling countryside as we make our way to our overnight stay in Castro Verde. (B,L)Cycle from Castro Verde to Faro
99 km with around 985m-1,175m of ascent*
Our last day’s cycling is a joy with some twisty road sections, pine forests and fantastic views as we approach the end of this epic journey. The last 15km of the N2 can get busy with traffic, and so we have planned an optional alternative route into the city of Faro which takes you up over the hills, on almost traffic-free roads, to provide you with a wonderful view of the Mediterranean before you drop down into the city of Faro. * This increases the ascent for the day from around 985m to 1,175m. We plan to have a group, celebratory meal in Faro. (B,L)Departure Day
