Peak District Training Weekend
Tour Dates
27 Mar – 29 Mar 2026 – £400 per person – Spaces available
The Peak District weekend is intended for anyone booked on one of our holidays, considering one or just wanting a fun weekend cycling in the Peak District.
About
Our aim is to make your two days as enjoyable and instructive as possible. We hope you’ll leave not only having improved your group riding skills, navigation and hill climbing techniques but also with good memories of a fun weekend.
The event creates an example of how a day on one of our holidays along would be like. You have the added advantage of tips from our guide. The course aims to give you the opportunity for some back to back days cycling experience. We will also discuss some issues surrounding group riding. We’ll also cover the essentials of bike maintenance and roadside repairs. We will be supplying gpx files of the routes beforehand so you can practice using any navigation device you are planning to use for your holiday.
Cycling
First of all, we have a full day cycling into the Peak District planned on Saturday and a half day on Sunday. Therefore an opportunity to practice hill climbing and also meet like-minded people. You never know, they could be your next cycling holiday buddy!
The price includes two nights accommodation on a twin sharing basis (single rooms are available upon request for a supplement). You will need to budget for your meals during the day (we will have at least one café stop on each ride) and evening meals.

Meet in Sheffield city centre
Our weekend begins on Friday evening meeting at a city centre hotel in Sheffield. Once settled in your accommodation we will meet you at around 6 pm to do a workshop at our offices to go through the essentials of bike maintenance, cycling technique and some other aspects of riding. Later we will head for a drink and a bite to eat in nearby Kelham Island.
Approx 65 miles of cycling
After breakfast, we will ride out from the hotel through the city into the Peak District taking in some glorious sights on a ride of between 60-65 miles with a few thousand feet of climbing – a typical day on one of our harder holidays. After lunch, at a local cafe, there will be an alternative shorter ride back to the hotel for those who don’t want to do the full route. By late afternoon we will return to our accommodation for short rest followed by puncture workshop at 6pm where hopefully you can pick up some tips on the best way to deal with punctures. By end of day, we would have earned a hearty evening meal and a few drinks in a local restaurant.
Approx 40 miles cycling
It’s up for breakfast and then out on the bikes with roughly 40 miles planned today, again with a fair bit of climbing as we head towards Tideswell for a café stop and then return back to Sheffield by 2 pm.
